Accelerating retail supply chain performance against pandemic disruption: adopting resilient strategies to mitigate the long-term effects

Purpose Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has disrupted global supply chains, revealing dreadful gaps and exposing vulnerabilities. Retailers are challenged to tackle risks organise themselves fit into the “new normal” scenario. This outbreak established a volatile environment for chains; it raised question of survival in market, forcing companies rethink resilient strategies be adopted post-pandemic situation mitigate long-term effects this virus. study explores priorities retail chains (RSCs) align their business operations world. Design/methodology/approach utilised integrated full consistency model (FUCOM) – best–worst method (BWM) assessment RSCs enhance performance irrespective pandemic disruptions. The FUCOM been employed identify determinants enhancing performance, whereas RSC evaluated using BWM method. Findings current identifies “Collaboration Efficiency” as main criterion accelerating dynamic social environment. Also, concludes that “Order Fulfilment” “Digital RSCs” most appropriate effects.
